Floyd Mayweather vs Mike Tyson punted to fall 2026

For a supposedly retired fighter, Floyd Mayweather’s supposed upcoming fight schedule has proven to be incredibly chaotic and vague. In the last half-year Floyd has been announced in fights with Mike Zambidis and a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, both of which were preceded by an announcement of an exhibition fight with Mike Tyson.

Now, while the Tyson fight was supposed to have taken place May 30, there was obviously no promotion or substantial follow up to the initial announcement, leaving many to question whether or not it was going to take place at all. A press release today just came out to state that the fight with Tyson has been delayed until this fall due to Tyson breaking his hand in training, but hasn’t been scuttled altogether.

Naturally this latest announcement will only raise further questions though, as Floyd appears to be contractually bound to a September fight with Pacquiao on Netflix, and it seems difficult to imagine him taking part in two fall fights of this commercial magnitude, especially at 49-years-old.

For now, however, word from promoters are that the Tyson fight is still anticipated to happen later this year, so we’ll just have to keep you posted as more detailed information becomes available.
