Devin Haney’s father and trainer Bill Haney answered some fan and media questions during a live stream on Instagram, and during the segment he said their side is ready and willing to move forward on making a fight with Shakur Stevenson after the pair traded words on social media. Here’s some of what Bill had to say below.

On Devin wanting to fight Shakur at 144 all of the sudden

“No, it’s not ‘all of the sudden.’ 144 is in the welterweight division. Are you people crazy or what? You’re going to have to speed up the conversations, man. Welterweight division is between 140 and 147. Oh my god.

“Deebo said he wants to do it, I mean he’s the boss…144 is what [Shakur] said he wanted to do. He said we got to sit down like businessmen and make it happen, right? Well, we already sat down like businessmen, we’re ready to make it happen, like businessmen.”

On Keyshawn Davis also calling for a Haney fight at 147 and their interest in that fight

“I think that you’re going somewhere else with it when what we’ve been doing, this thing [with Shakur] has been brewing seven, eight, nine, ten years — whatever it has been. So just relax and we’ll get there because he’s on the list.”

Devin is most recently coming off of a 12 round decision win over Brian Norman Jr last November.
