Walmart just rolled out a fresh lineup of Onn smart TVs running Google TV, and the pricing is hard to ignore. The headline model is a 55-inch 4K QLED that starts at $248, which is a lot of television for the money.

This is the first time the retailer has put Google TV inside full-sized Smart TVs under its house electronics brand on any real scale. It lines up with what we told you was coming in our earlier report on Walmart Onn TVs with Google TV.
Onn Smart TV Specs and Features
QLED panels push brighter highlights, deeper color, and better contrast than the plain LED screens you usually find at this price. Paired with 4K resolution and Dolby Vision, the picture holds up well on HDR movies and live sports.
The Onn Smart TV 55-inch model runs at 60Hz and gives you three HDMI ports for a soundbar, a gaming console, or a cable box. It ships with a version of the same remote Walmart uses on its Onn streaming sticks.

Google TV rounds it out with a solid platform. You get personalized recommendations pulled from your streaming apps, quick access to thousands of channels and services, voice search through Google Assistant, and built-in Chromecast so you can cast from your phone or laptop without extra hardware.
Once you have one set up, you can open it up even further. We walk through the process in our guide on how to jailbreak Onn Google TV devices.

Why Walmart Is Swapping Roku for Google TV
The move also tells you where Walmart is headed. Over the past several months, the company has quietly pulled back on its Roku-powered Onn TVs, and this Google TV push fills that gap.
Onn’s Google TV streaming sticks have sold out repeatedly as shoppers ditch Fire TV, so extending that same platform into actual televisions was a logical next step. Buyers now get to pick their ecosystem, whether that is Google TV, Roku, or Vizio.
A quick heads up before you go hunting for one. Online availability seems to shift depending on your location, so the exact models and prices you see may not match what a friend two states over sees.
When we searched for ‘Onn Google TV’ on Walmart’s website, we found three models available: 55 inch, 65 inch, and 75 inch.

We also cannot tell you what your local Walmart has sitting on the shelf, since stock varies store to store and these budget sets tend to move fast. It is worth checking both the site and your nearby store rather than assuming the deal is everywhere.
Final Thoughts from Troy
At $248 for a 55-inch 4K QLED, Walmart is undercutting a lot of name brands while still handing you a full Google TV experience. For a bedroom, a second living room, or a first smart TV, that is a tough value to argue with, as long as you can actually find one in stock.
If you would rather keep your current TV and just add a snappy streaming device, a dedicated box often beats a bargain smart TV on speed and updates. Walmart’s own all-new 2026 Onn 4K Pro (V2) is one option, and we cover the rest in our roundup of the best Android TV boxes.
